SiteCare has announced its acquisition of Maintainn, a WordPress maintenance service provider, from WebDevStudios. This marks a significant consolidation in the WordPress maintenance services space.
Maintainn has long been a go-to solution for small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) needing WordPress support, offering maintenance plans priced between $49 and $249 per month. SiteCare’s acquisition promises to maintain these pricing tiers for at least a year while continuing to deliver the same level of service. Additionally, customers may benefit from enhanced services as SiteCare integrates Maintainn into its broader offerings, which also include digital marketing solutions.
WebDevStudios CEO Brad Williams explained the decision to sell Maintainn as part of the company’s strategic shift toward focusing on enterprise-level clients, including high-profile names like Starbucks, The Wall Street Journal, and Microsoft. The divergence in target markets created challenges in effectively marketing both Maintainn and WebDevStudios’ enterprise services under one umbrella.
“Maintainn primarily supports SMBs to mid-tier businesses, whereas WebDevStudios has grown toward handling more technical, large-scale projects for enterprises,” said Williams in an interview with The WP Minute. “This acquisition allows us to stay aligned with our goals while ensuring Maintainn customers continue to receive excellent service.”
For SiteCare, this acquisition builds on its growth strategy, following its 2018 acquisition of WP Site Care. With Maintainn’s assets now part of its portfolio, SiteCare strengthens its position as a leader in WordPress maintenance and digital marketing services. However, Maintainn’s team members will remain with WebDevStudios.
This deal signals further consolidation within the WordPress ecosystem as companies look to align their services with distinct customer needs. SiteCare’s acquisition of Maintainn aims to provide robust solutions for SMBs while enabling WebDevStudios to focus exclusively on its enterprise clientele.
